Biography
Mr. Poore was born in Mobile Alabama near the end of the baby boom era. He is the son of Ralph Ezra and Beatrice Poore. Both were hard working parents. Bea ran and owned a neighborhood bar called “ The Poore House”. Ralph was a Budweiser beer salesman. Bruce grew up in a comfortable middle class family.
The early 1970’s was when Mr. Poore was a teenager, the era of social turmoil, sex, drugs and rock n roll. Life generally was one big party. Mr. Poore and his friends worked by day and partied at night.
Later Mr. Poore settled down and got married. The marriage would only last two short years. Mr. Poore was too young and too immature for marriage. Several years later Mr. Poore remarried but this too was not an enduring relationship. After seven years the marriage broke up and Mr. Poore was single again.
During Mr. Poore’s second marriage and in 1988 Mr. Poore moved from Mobile, Alabama to Atlanta, Georgia with the Siemens Company. After two years with Siemens in Atlanta the company started to down size as many were doing and closed their Atlanta operation.
In 1992 Mr. Poore took off in another direction. He contracted with Roadway Package Systems which later became Fedex Ground. Mr. Poore owned the RPS truck, contracted a territory and was now a business owner. The first two years revenues were good but the second two were not. Mr. Poore sold the business and bought screen printing equipment.
Mr. Poore at that time began screen printing and partnered with Creative Ideas, to screen print and do financial and graphic work for the company. This partnership lead to Mr. Poore being appointed Chief Financial Officer of Creative Ideas. This was a 12 year association after which Mr. Poore decided to move on to other areas of interest.
Mr. Poore was a partner and helped start Petland of Dalton. This business venture was not a financial success. After two years the business was sold.
In May of 2009 Mr. Poore gained employment with a local Armored Car company. This sparked an interest in fire arms. Since joining the security industry Mr. Poore has become an NRA certified firearms instructor and reloads his own ammunition.
Mr. Poore recently took up the hobby of Amateur Radio. Having obtained an Extra Class License Mr. Poore is active in both a Calhoun and Cartersville radio Club.
Mr. Poore, now retired, continues to reside in NW Georgia. In March of 2011 Mr. Poore ran for and won the treasurer position of the Bartow County Republican Party. Mr. Poore stays active in the party and works for conservative causes. Mr. Poore also drives a school bus for Bartow County to stay busy and have funds for his hobbies.
